Frederick was born in Europe and grew up in a Christian home and trained as an organic vegetable farmer. After completing his training, he spent a year in Switzerland in a leadership role on a well-known organic farm.
In 1984, Frederick followed God’s call to serve among a largely unreached people group in the Horn of Africa—people with little access to the Gospel. He recognized that practical skills could open doors where words alone could not. Through vocational training, he envisioned building meaningful relationships with young people, creating opportunities to share the Gospel and walk alongside those who chose to follow Christ.
In 1992, Frederick married Sandra, who shared his calling and vision. Together, they committed their lives to serving this community. One of their first major steps was establishing a children’s home for disadvantaged children, providing not only a safe and loving environment but also a Christian upbringing and access to quality education.
Over the years, Frederick and Sandra have relocated several times, adapting to new challenges and opportunities. Through it all, their mission has remained the same. They continue to run the children’s home while also offering vocational training combined with intentional discipleship, investing deeply in the lives of young people.
Their perseverance has borne fruit. In a context known for resistance to the Gospel, they have seen individuals come to faith, grow in their relationship with Christ, and begin reaching out to their own communities.
Today, Frederick and Sandra remain committed to their calling. Their desire is to see many more young people come to know their Lord and Savior, be transformed by His Word, and develop a passion to share that hope with their own people.
