Ian and Pauline Wilson

Canada

Now living in Barrie, about 60 miles north of Toronto, Canada, Ian and Pauline originally come from the Liverpool area in England where they were both teachers. For some time they  attended a house church there, sharing common roots with some other people who now partner with Avail.

Their three children, all married and living with their spouses in Barrie, have given them nine grandchildren.

Ten years ago they pioneered a church in Barrie, where Ian continues to serve as the pastor.

One of the prominent features of the church is its support of overseas missions, which isn’t surprising seeing Ian has always been involved in worldwide missions and for many years traveled abroad as an evangelist.

In the past year, they have expanded their overseas work. Currently, they are connected with a church in Vijayawada, India, not far from Hyderabad in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh where for many years they have supported an orphanage of over thirty children.

More recently they have pushed north of Hyderabad to partner with a faithful and industrious man in the Lord’s work. They helped him put a new roof on the church and also bought an acre of land for the construction of a new building and an orphanage.

In January 2023 Bob and Joanne Eras, from their church in Barrie, took a team to Nicaragua to build houses for the poor and to share the gospel in the slums of Managua.

We look forward to fruitful connections with Ian and Pauline in the coming days.

Ian and Pauline have captured the vision of Jesus: ‘The fields are ripe for harvest’ (John 4:35).’
