Before they met, both Igor and Lidiany felt called to mission, but it was only after they got married that they knew the Lord was calling them to Albania – quite remarkable considering Igor is Ukrainian and Lidiany is Brazilian.
They moved to the capital city of Tirana in 2018 and the following year relocated to the coastal town of Vlorë. A visit by a team from England gave them an added boost in getting to know local people. The Covid Pandemic also afforded them a great way of demonstrating practical care through giving food and other provisions.
You cannot escape the vibrancy and energy of this couple for sharing the gospel. They have opened a weekly ‘seniors’ lunch primarily for widowers where, over food, they can chat about Jesus.
This couple are far from dreamers with simply good ideas. Their faithfulness is instantly recognisable. Clearly the Lord is blessing them and we commend them to you.
They are putting to good use their experience in working with children by running all kinds of projects and camps which children and teens can enjoy and learn about Jesus. Their desire is to see vulnerable local children and families equipped to live a life of dignity.
A new vision is to turn an abandoned school in a village forty miles away into a campsite for children/teenagers as well being a place to serve the community.
The big personal news is that they are thrilled to be ‘mum and dad’ to a little Albanian girl called Isa, especially after the long wait for the official fostering documents.
