We are delighted to introduce to you Mike Coles, though for some of you introductions may not be necessary. Mike, you may remember, was a trustee of Avail, while many of you may know him from New Life Radio.
Once you meet and talk with Mike, you’ll discover that he is delightfully original. Although he is retired, he has a tireless enthusiasm for spreading the gospel through radio and Internet. We happen to think he is pretty good at it.
New Life Radio started in 1998 when Mike began FM local radio broadcasting, audio streaming live sermons and missionary messages from New Life Conference in Devon (now held at Quinta, Oswestry). His 24/7 online platform continues to offer a large archive of previous recordings as well as Christian audiobooks – including Dr A.W. Tozer’s 200 sermons – and good music.
Mike loves what he does, though he isn’t in the business of promoting a mission but the person of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. We are very thrilled that he is registered with Avail, and we recognise the influence he has in the UK and around the world.
Mike’s beloved wife Faith recently went to be with her Lord ((August 2024). Together they were long-standing, close friends of some of the trustees, who have memorable tales of joint trips in Africa. True companions like this are very wonderful. Having worked quietly and sacrificially over many decades, they seemed to us like a modern version of the friends and co-workers that the apostle Paul found Aquila and Priscilla.
We commend Mike to you for prayer and encouragement as he faithfully continues the work.
