Rob and True Parkes are an experienced and servant hearted missonary couple.
In 1996-2007 they worked in Tak province in Thailand doing church planting and evangelism mainly using English teaching to help us to evangelise the Thai people.
In 2018 they returned to Thailand to lead a team of missionaries and to oversee a dormitory of missionary children whose parents were working in neighbouring countries. They also helped a church by teaching English to children at risk of child trafficking.
Upon returning home to the UK in 2022, they worked alongside others as cross-cultural evangelists in Worthing, West Sussex, using English teaching. Rob also worked in an Asian shop in the community in order to reach out to Asians including Thai people.
Now, God is sending them for the third time to Thailand to work with a team in Chiang Mai (Children in Crisis) involved in helping vulnerable children who are at risk of poverty and of being trafficked worldwide. Their role is to help various teams teach English by supplying resources and training, as well as writing promotional materials and training on helping children who are at risk.
Given their experience and knowledge of the region, it is possible that Rob could also visit Cambodia to give training and support.
It is a privelage to welcome Rob, True and their children (Josiah, Grace and Joy-Hosanna) into the Avail family. We have witnessed their proven character over many years and ask you to join us in prayer as they settle and take up the new roles God has clearly called them to.
